It's a studio quality direct box combined with a feature packed, state-of-the-art preamp and equalizer. The Para Acoustic really does have it all -- I suppose that's why I keep seeing world-class guitarists bringing these things up on stage with them. It has a balanced XLR out, a multi-band EQ, and the mid has a sweepable Q (from .4-1.6 KHz). It also includes a sweepable notch filter, phase inversion, and even an effects loop (single input, so you need a stereo cable). And finally, it's smaller than many popular DI boxes, so it carries with it the added advantage of fitting in your guitar case.
