Acoustic Guitars and Basses
Shoreline Music carries high-quality handcrafted basses, acoustic guitars, and percussion instruments, plus pickups and preamps, DIs and strings, amps for acoustic and bass guitars, and a full line of accessories. This is the oldest guitar store on the internet, and we've developed a customer base that spans over 100 countries--it includes everyone from absolute beginners to a number of Dove, Winfield, and Grammy award winners. It's not hard to see why: Much of our gear can't be found anywhere else in the world for a lower price, especially if you consider our free shipping policy. And our selection of acoustic guitars, basses, and high-end amplification gear is unmatched. But what keeps bringing customers back to us is the wealth of information to be found here on the site, our widely-recognized expertise in finding great instruments and the means to amplify them, our hassle-free shopping experience, our fast and intuitive site navigation, the prompt (and free) shipment of virtually every order, and, most importantly, our commitment to candid, informative, personal service.

Having acoustic guitars and basses built to order is one of our many specialties (we don't build them, but work with many custom builders). We also stock plenty of standard builds, and we own and play guitars right out of our inventory. But even with all these great guitars in the shop, over the past 11 years, Shoreline has sold nearly as many built-to-order guitars as standard ones. This is the advantage of working with small-shop builders: As each acoustic guitar or bass is built by hand, customizing is a natural part of the workflow. And since we give you our full money-back guarantee even on custom instruments, customizing a guitar with us couldn't be easier. Although a "custom" guitar can sometimes just be one with different tonewoods, it often encompasses a whole lot more. As you linger on our acoustic guitar and bass pages and survey our collection of instrument pictures, you'll see numerous combinations of tonewoods, binding woods, inlays, cutaways, soundhole rosettes, and more. For most of our builders, however, the instruments that are pictured here are only the tip of the iceberg, with countless other combinations possible. As always, we love to talk about guitars (who doesn't?), so please contact us at any time with any questions or ideas for custom guitar configurations.

Shoreline Music has also earned a reputation as the place to come if you're looking to amplify your acoustic guitar. We're the #1 dealer for many of our pickup, preamp and amplifier vendors, and we carry the world's best selection of high-end acoustic guitar pickups and preamps. Whether you're a career musician looking for that extra edge in your live sound, or a worship leader working to be heard over a large congregation, or even if you're just plugging in your acoustic guitar for the first time, feel free to give us a call with your questions--with dozens of years of live performance experience represented in our shop, we complement our unparalleled selection of gear with insightful, stage-tested advice.

To top it all off, Shoreline offers what is by far the simplest shipping and return policy in the guitar business: Everything we sell is shipped for free (acoustic guitars and basses even get free Express shipping) and everything gets sent on 10-day approval, with a full money-back guarantee. Not only does free shipping make shopping easier--the price you see is always the price you pay, and you don't have to submit a fake order just to figure out shipping charges--but it also means that the cost of ordering from us is less than most places that add shipping charges onto each order. Please see our Guarantee and Shipping pages for more details.

This website is designed for intuitive navigation and fast loading. For almost every product we carry, you're never more than one click away from detailed information or a "Buy Now" button. Plus, when browsing here, you'll never be confronted with animated graphics, flying text, ornate javascripts or other techno-gimmicks that take forever to load (our two indulgences are high-quality product pictures and MP3s of our pickups in action). What you will find is a whole lot of information about basses and acoustic guitars as well as the gear that goes along with these. We've just found that our customers have grown weary of the sorts of websites that have lots of red letters and exclamation points but no substance, the kind with plenty of words but none that you'd actually want to read.

Our website is updated frequently (almost daily), so check in from time to time to see what new stuff we might have in the shop, as well as any new specials. You can click on any of the links scattered throughout these pages to see pictures and detailed descriptions of the gear we carry, or on any link in the left margin of each page. In the meantime, please enjoy a leisurely stroll through our current offerings.
