It starts with a low-profile undersaddle element that's more solid than a standard ribbon-type pickup, and adds an onboard preamp with an unobtrusive volume control that mounts right inside your soundhole. It's worth noting that every single installation I've done with this Baggs pickup has sounded fantastic. I can't say that about many other undersaddle pickups I've installed.
