Dougie MacLean is a superlative
singer/songwriter who has attracted a worldwide following. He maintains
his primary home with his family in Dunkeld, Scotland which is also where
his studio produces his recordings and the music of a few other select musicians.
Dougie's wife Jennifer is the artist for most of his beautiful album covers.
His songs have been recorded by many other artists, and some of his music
was even included in a major motion picture - "The Last of the Mohicans".
He has recorded more than 10 albums, performed at Carnegie Hall, and plays
to sold-out concerts around the world. For those not familiar with his
music, in addition to a unassuming and charming stage presence, Dougie's
got a voice that has the tonal tenderness of Graham Nash and the lyrical
qualities of Jackson Browne.
If you already know his music, you won't need our recommendation - if
you don't, be sure to hear his songs of love, freedom and imagination.
His albums range from singer/songwriter (Craigie Dhu, Indigenous, Marching
Mystery, Singing Land, Real Estate & Riof) to traditional instrumental
Celtic (Fiddle) to instrumental Celtic/New Age (The Search and Sunset
Song) to putting other's words to music (Tribute) to classically-influenced
Celtic ensemble work (Perthshire Amber).

| Live |
 |
Live - From the Ends of the Earth may very
well be my favorite Dougie CD. Given the uncertainy of live performance,
live CDs are usually only for a musician's die-hard fans. But not
with this one--it's Dougie at his best, and sure to be enjoyed even
by those new to his music. Tracks include "She Will Find Me",
"Rescue Me", "Rite of Passage", "All Together",
"Green Grow the Rushes", "Talking with My Father"
(previously unreleased), "Singing Land" and more. |
