Shoreline Affiliate Agreement
Terms and Conditions

Our Affiliate Agreement is pretty straightforward. You send us customers--while observing a few simple rules about how to do so--and we agree to pay you a commission as our thanks. Here are the details:

Payment

When we approve you as an affiliate, we agree to pay you a commission of 5% of any referred sales whenever the following conditions are met:

That's it. You send them our way, and we pay you. The payment schedule is monthly, provided your commissions earned exceed $50 USD. Please note that all sales referred to us by you are subject to review to confirm their authenticity. Also, our 10-day return policy means that no order is complete until about 12-14 days have elapsed (the 10 day period begins after the customer receives the product). It may therefore be possible that a sale that takes place in the middle of one calendar month will not be paid until the end of the following calendar month.

In addition to the standard 5% repeatable sales commission, we offer bonuses for affiliates who refer us lots of business. Bonus schedules are subject to change. Check our FAQ or our ClixGalore program details to see the current bonus structure.

Links to Our Website

The only way you can get paid for your referrals is to link to our website using the text links and banner ads that we'll provide for you when you sign up. Embedded in those links are the tracking data that ClixGalore uses to pay you--and not somebody else. So be sure that all your links are properly using the code provided by us and ClixGalore. While we prefer that you email us to request any custom or deep links, it is acceptable under the terms of this agreement to make minor modifications to text links to reflect more clearly the products being linked to. For example, we don't currently have any official links that say "Compact 60", but we do offer a link that goes straight to our AER page, using the text, "AER amps". If you were writing content--say, an amp review--that referred to the AER Compact 60, it would likely be more useful to have link text that used the words "Compact 60" instead of the more generic "AER amps". If you're handy with HTML, such a change would be easy for you, and would be acceptable under the terms of this agreement. Again, though, we prefer it greatly if you contact us to generate a custom link (this aids in our tracking, and yours).

Please note in addition that you don't get to use your own links. That is, you're not allowed to score a quick 5% discount on music gear just by clicking on your own website referral link. Sorry. Any attempt to do this will be considered grounds for termination.

Spamming

While it is acceptable under the terms of this agreement for you to generate commissions by using links placed strategically in discussion forums or emails, spamming is expressly forbidden. What does this mean? It means that in forums, be judicious about how you link to our store. You may not violate, in letter or in spirit, the anti-spamming guidelines spelled out either by forum administrators or by that forum's informal community rules. We know that there are dealers who earn a living doing this, but such activity in the name of our store reflects badly on us, so please don't do it. For emails, don't send unsolicited emails containing our store links to big groups of people.

Prohibited Content

All the stuff you'd expect to be prohibited, well, that's what is prohibited. The website you use to link to us must not contain or link to porn, racism, pedophilia, or any illegal stuff. Also forbidden are any deceptive practices or misdirection. And no violation of any copyrights, trademarks, or intellectual property rights (including ours). You also may not in any way misrepresent or otherwise sully our store name, logos, or reputation.

Paid Keyword Listings

You are welcome to purchase keyword listings in search engine ad services such as Google Adwords or Yahoo! Search Marketing. However, these paid ads must not interfere with any natural searches for our store, or any of our organic search results in these engines, which are typically very high. So, while the ads you place may feature our store name and website address, no keywords on which your are bidding may contain any reference to any version of our store name, including (but not limited to): "shoreline", "shoreline music", "shoreline acoustic music", "shorelinemusic.com", "samusic", and "samusic.com". Also, if you are bidding on keywords on which we are already bidding, your display URL must be "shorelinemusic.com". No variations allowed. Finally, we reserve the right to vet any ad copy you produce that links to our store.

Domain Names

You may use any domain name you choose for your website that links to us, as long as it does not violate the above standards for prohibited content. So, for example, "freecocaine.com" and "hotbimbos4u.com" would be unacceptable, even if their content happened to be all about acoustic guitars. Likewise, your domain name may not contain any variation or misspelling of any of the aforementioned trade names for our store.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate any affiliate relationship at any time. It's of course in our interest to maintain as many good affiliate relationships as we can, so if you're doing anything untoward, we'll write you first and ask you to stop. But if you don't, we may end the relationship at our sole discretion.
