Cleartone Strings
Cleartone Strings are the guitar strings that we've all been waiting for. It used to be that if you wanted coated, long-lasting strings that didn't feel like they fell in the Vaseline, all you had to do was dream. Well, wake up, little Susie, because Phil Everly (yes, that Phil Everly) has produced a string that gives you the long-lasting tone you expect from coated strings, but with none of the liabilities.

How does Cleartone do it? Well, it all comes down to EMP. No, it's not an Electro-Magnetic Pulse, and it's not going to save Morpheus and the crew of the Nebuchadnezzar. EMP is "Enhanced Molecular Protection", which, as far as I can tell, has something to do with molecules and enhancing, and, well, protection. The best part about EMP is that it results in a layer of coating that's only 1 micron thick (that's about 1/60th the width of a human hair). This ultra-thin coating means that A) Cleartone strings feel virtually like regular, uncoated strings—honest—and B) Cleartone can coat even the unwound strings, using the exact same coating for every string. If you've ever found yourself trying to hunt down Elixir singles, or if you've grown tired of the feeling of coated and uncoated strings on the same guitar, you know the value of protecting all 6 strings in the set, not just the 3 or 4 wound ones. Ultimately, though, it's the tone that benefits. Because the coating on Cleartone strings is so thin, they suffer from none of that dead tone that seems to accompany many coated strings. It really is like playing an uncoated string.

Cleartone strings are currently available for acoustic and electric guitars in the gauges described below on the buying grid. However, given the success of this design, I fully expect them to fill these out with more gauges and more instruments in the near future. As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions about Cleartone strings, bulk pricing, etc.

Every Cleartone string order is shipped free, regardless of size.
